Singapore launches online health insurance planning tool
Singapore’s Ministry of Health and the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board have unveiled a digital tool for health insurance planning.
The Health Insurance Planner (HIP) on the CPF website helps individuals visualise their MediSave medical savings and health insurance premiums; compare benefits, features, and premiums across private insurance plans for their preferred ward type; and project the premiums up to 30 years for their chosen private insurance plans and its corresponding rider.
The HIP, according to the MOH, is an additional tool Singaporeans can use to make informed decisions about their health insurance.
Private Cambodian hospital enables mobile bank payments
Central Hospital, a private hospital in Cambodia, has partnered with commercial bank Sathapana Bank to streamline payments via mobile banking.
Their collaboration aims to reduce cash transactions and improve payment security while simplifying payment processes through automated banking.
Besides allowing patients to pay for hospital services via the Sathapana Bank mobile app, the partnership also offers hospital discounts for Sathapana clients.
Sathapana employees are also provided with additional healthcare benefits, according to their memorandum of understanding.
Yuan’s General Hospital applies genAI in HIS
Yuan’s General Hospital in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, has enhanced its hospital information system with generative AI.
The 625-bed hospital partnered with local company TPIsoftware to develop and launch an HIS platform that streamlines data extraction, document processing, and medical decision support.
It features smart search, which does quick medical record retrieval and generates patient summaries, and automatic data format conversion based on FHIR standards. It also automates data querying and reconciliation.
Korean medicine education website goes live
South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare has launched a new website for training healthcare professionals in traditional Korean medicine.
The Han e-Campus provides educational materials, including video lectures and webinars, on applying traditional medicine, standard clinical practice guidelines and techniques, and Korean medicine research.
The website was developed to enhance the accessibility of traditional Korean medicine education for doctors, students, healthcare professionals, and the public.
